More of what we already know, but having Microsoft doing the talking helps.

Cheers

Tom- good points, its unfortunate the rbocs are so incompetent at competition-i think the single most important variable delaying deployment is the telecommunications act-when that gets ammended(hopefully sometime in early 98)we should start to see some action-although the rbocs are notorious for slothful acceptance of new technology, when they decide to go, its full speed ahead-i've been disappointed with the stock lately(who hasn't accept the shorts), but its too exciting not to stick it out until next year at this time-the upward potential for this stock is so attractive-time will tell-FWIW jeremic

tom--

i wasnt aware that DSL services were to be included in the per minute charges. my thought was that they would drive it through regulators so that they would force analog modem users to upgrade to DSL. they get to kill the ISPs and create a great customer base at the same time.

i doubt the bells will shoot themselves in the foot. when new technology comes along that people actually want, they are good about getting it out the door. yes, i know. this is a big reversal for me, but i have been thinking about things they have done in the past. look at call waiting...SBC sends stuff out with every bill saying you need this, and trying to get you to sign up. or what about voice mail for that matter. ISDN is usually used to show that the bells dont know what they are doing. i am normally inclined to agree with those people, but i recently thought of something...internet wasnt a big thing when the telcos started rolling out ISDN. the market really wasnt there.sure, you have heavy users like us, but the broader market wouldnt have bought it. now they will.

good luck to all,
trey
