>> There are not borders getting changed. Instead, the Israelis are stealing the land and water right from under the Arabs feet. And you're surprised that the Palestinians have a problem with this blatant theft.

Just to be clear, are you suggesting that settlements are THE problem? If you believe that you're nuts. Israel is negotiable on settlements but not while they are being threatened with extinction. All they've ever asked for it a commitment to peace by the bad guys.

The Israelis are NOT negotiable when it comes to the settlements. The reason I was shocked when I saw that most recent WB map is because the Israelis had been saying for years they were curtailing settlement building. Instead, they have expanded the program and now the entire WB is covered with settlements when just a few years ago, the settlements were round only around Jerusalem and along the wall dividing Israel from the WB. In other words, the Israelis speak with forked tongue, playing more of their games.

As long as they do not have a commitment to peace, why in the world would they limit the settlements? It is the only reasonable alternative to being surrounded by states who are intransigent in their desire to see Israel gone.

Because its not their land. What would you do if some neighbor with whom you have a contentious relationship came and started building on your land? Seriously, would you just sit there and turn the other cheek?

When you're trying to get something done, you have to present the other party with some reason to give up whatever it is you want. You don't get something for nothing.

What do you think the Israelis are doing? Members of the Likud, the party Netanyahu represents, have said t here is no two state solution. The winger Israelis don't want to states. They want all of Palestine for themselves.

And the US plays right into their game..........first with Condi Rice and now with Kerry.

The Pals may never get back what they've lost; but unless they come to terms on some kind of peace agreement Israel has no alternative but to continue settlement activity. There is precedent; Israel gave up the entire North Sinia -- which had significant petroleum reserves -- in exchange for a peace agreement. And Israel has stuck to that deal

And so, there will never be peace in the ME. The Israelis are not the good guys you so desperately want them to be.
