Qiryat Gat: Fast Facts: The Site
Intel in Qiryat Gat began operations in 1999, manufacturing processors using 0.18-micron technology. In 2008, Intel opened it's second Kiryat Gat plant, Fab 28.

F28 is a high-volume manufacturing Fab, which runs 300mm wafers on a 45nm process technology.

The Fab manufactures products across all of Intel segments, including servers, workstations, mobile computers, desktops, as well as chipsets for 32 nm technology, and Intel® Atom™ processors aimed at mobile devices.

Fab 28 will be the fourth high-volume Intel Fab that will manufacture chips using the 22 nm process technology.

I betcha housing could have recovered by now in central CA if the US dropped the corp tax to zero and CA gave a 20 year property and income tax holiday if Intel built this fab near one of the "Jerry Brown Bullet Trains to Nowhere" stations now in Central California. I'd LOVE to see some high quality engineering and manufacturing jobs come to CA well outside the Bay Area to areas that need jobs and investments too..... but we have idiots in government and the voting booths that continue to think companies are "unpatriotic" to build there plants outside the US where they can spend the money they make selling stuff outside the US to make more to sell outside the US....
