Sure.... there were no safety features to prevent you from taking off the top under pressure and if the bobble head pressure control got stuck for any reason, you were doomed! Also they used lever controls where you could, by sliding a weight, set the pressure... that thing got stuck for any reason and, again, you were doomed.

I need to get rid of an old unit I have somewhere in our home.

We have and use 2 pressure cookers.
One large for canning and one small for fast cooking certain meals.
No problem ever.

I just finished expanding our garden, and
we are about to buy a 2nd large cooker.
We have been accumulating a lot of canning jars and tattler lids as part of our prepper program.

Two suggestions we got from grandma many decades ago.
1. While in use, never leave the cooker unattended.
2. It is a purchase you will use forever so never buy one used.

Easy to understand and use, this book is THE guide to canning.
