ChinuSFO thank you for what you do and for your clearly thought out posts and replies. Question: I read in my local paper that Merkley is leading in the OR senate race but that it is expected that the Republicans will retake the senate this year. Are the polls supporting this or and what is your opinion of the republican chances to retake the senate?

I don't really think racism is the main reason the pubs want to impeach Obama. I think it is because he is a Dem.

They impeached Clinton for absolutely nothing and he is lily white; and they hounded Hillary even accusing her of murder.

And the pubs are way meaner now than they have ever been. They have gotten to the John Birch society level and seem to be heading to the KKK.

They would have found a reason to harass and impeach any Dem.

That may be why Obamas approval ratings are plummeting and many want to see him impeached. That is not the reason. The reason is he is African American and that is why they want him impeached. Those White Republican men. They were OK with Bush not doing much to seal the birders.

Chinu, that is a totally bogus response and you should be ashamed of yourself for posting it. Obama was elected in his first term in a great deal of cross-over voters. I personally know of many Republicans and Conservatives who voted for Obama. He also picked up many centrists. The people who voted for him crossed all lines, including rich white people. He has high disapproval rating because of his own actions, not simply because he's black. For example, he has proven to be incompetent when it comes to our economy, and that's one thing most Americans simply don't tolerate. This has nothing to do with race. I think most Americans were exhilarated that we elected Obama, because of his intelligence and his ideas. Many more wanted for the US to finally live up to our ideals and elect a woman or African American. I don't believe the majority of the people who now disapprove of Obama's performance do so because he is African American. That's ridiculous. Are their race haters in this country? Absolutely, but they are not the majority. That belongs to another time and it seems that you do too. To bring up the race card is a tired meme. Everyone needs to take the damned chip off their shoulder about race. Oh and btw, many of us who voted for Obama and now disapprove of Obama, had just has much disapproval for Bush. In fact, I disapprove of Obama, because he does too many of the same damned things that Bush does. Do you think I'd like it any better just because Obama does it? Hell no. It makes it worse, because he promised to be different than that Bush idiot, but he just gave us 8 more years of Bush incompetence and he's doubled down on some of Bush's worst policies like all the damned spying on American citizens.
