Well you clearly understand coop advertising including the abuses....need I say more?

My own experience in retailing is that TV didn't pay. It was my job to assess the return on advertising so I know what I am talking about. Print ads may work for some departments e.g. paint but it needs to be run by the retailer with a variety of merchandise not the manufacturer.

Inserted circulars (in newspapers) work and mailed circulars work better (because the retailer can target their customers) but the lead time might be too long for this product.

Radio works for certain products but I wouldn't think it works well for this product.

So I think that advertising has a limited role to play for THQI except for the Internet which is a new and exciting media for all and particularly products related to the Internet such as electronic games.

Marketing of these products is not straightforward. But somehow there seems to be an order list for these products before they hit the stores so the company is doing something right.
