Thanks Bulba. What do you make of the median stock being so much worse than median entry? Could be any of following, or something I did not think of:

1. Worst performers were low weights in portfolios
2. Worst performers not picked often
3. Best performers concentrated in accounts doing relatively bettet, or opposite too

Thoughts?

Jon

8/22/14 Contest update
So far, at least, the new cold war has been hot for stocks. And, along with the broad market, the Nasdaq Biotech Index put up a few more points on the scoreboard. However, being overweight smaller-cap companies, the Contest median slipped back slightly.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 2.13% YTD (vs. up 3.14% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 17.47% YTD (vs. up 16.27% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8.67% YTD (vs. up 6.90% YTD a week ago).
DEWDIL’s portfolio, up 50.77% YTD, remained in first place, while DIEGO’s portfolio, up 41.04% YTD, held on to second place and WATCHIT’s portfolio, up 36.15% YTD, having climbed to third place.
At Friday's close, 25 of the 46 Contest portfolios were in the black, while only 12 of the 46 are now beating the NBI. The median Contest portfolio stock (SPPI) is down -10.62% YTD.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: None
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
Have a safe & stress-free weekend biotechies!
Peace & good health,
Bulba
