>> Of course then there are the other pertinent facts in the case. She was a Dem in a state where it would be better to be a criminal on the lam than a Dem. She headed an agency that identified corruption in the state. Many of those corrupt pols singled out by her agency were Rs. Apparently, Perry was under scrutiny.

The woman was inebriated. Not just drunk. Perry would have been acting inappropriately had he not called for her resignation. I don't think withholding the money was the best course of action -- but there is nothing illegal about a governor threatening veto then carrying out the threat.

CJ saying that Perry was under scrutiny is not the same as it being true. This is a witch hunt put forth by some liberal PAC in Texas, and obviously was drummed up based on political considerations only.

The entire incident is an outgrowth of an ultra-liberal Travis county situated in the middle of an otherwise conservative state. This woman is the dirtbag who went after Tom Delay on specious charges, and I'm sure any charges will meet the same fate as the Delay case -- an apparent abuse of power by those trying to prosecute him.

Texas politics is a dirty business; nothing new there.
