There were some faculty members he wanted removed. UT refused to do it. He vetoed funding.

That is about the same as it can get without being identical.

Again, the governor has no authority over the PIU. It wasn't his place to decide whether or not her actions were appropriate. The conflict of interests makes it interesting.

It may not go anywhere. But it is far from a slam dunk that it won't. And there is no evidence at all that this is political in nature.
