The difference between DFW/Houston and these other places is that it COULD be done profitably. The others you mentioned, not so much.

NY to DC, yes, if they could existing ROW. We know SFO-LA is not feasible from a financial point of view. I don't think any of the Chicago routes you mentioned could be done profitably or the other DC routes.

You're just picking stuff out of the air without really any basis for it.

If any of those could be profitable, there ought to be some entrepreneurial figures in those states to put together projects funded privately as Eckels and TX Central Rail are doing.
