No, it is because it will cost too much to build. There will be riders. But you can't begin to recover that cost, let alone turn a profit.


No. Its because the cities along the way are demanding too many stops. Trains that make a profit have very limited stops.

I would say any route that private enterprise wants to build without taxpayer funding is fine with me.
