Putting Israeli soldiers in Gaza would maintain a steady KIA count. And Israel doesn't seem to have the inclination to accept casualties.
I think Hama's whole strategy is to force Israel to send in troops near enough that they can kill a few. The rockets they launch are a joke, even more of one since Iron Dome.

What I'm saying is instead of "clear out all Hamas fighters", the only plan that would be a true victory would be "clear out all enemy population".
I think they'd like all the Pals gone from Gaza and the WB. But, where the hell would they go? All their neighbors already have big Pal refugee problems.

The only realistic military solution is to push the population out.

Preferred solution for sure - but equally impossible at the moment. A DMZ can be quickly created but who would maintain it going forward and how aggressively would they combat violations. Just bombing for another month and then going home will not work either - something new must be tried. Really doubt Egypt would have much heartburn over losing pals/hamas as a neighbor.
Has been known to happen...

Cheers!
