I can't believe he would just come out and say that he doesn't have a strategy.
Would you rather he had just spouted the traditional bafflegab BS, saying nothing? That would have been more "proper" for you conservative authoritarians, wouldn't it?

Let me ask you this, would you have rather he had detailed our strategy for our enemies? What clue did he give them? Perhaps that their actions NOW could affect his strategy?

I'm proud of our president. You, however, remain an idiot who only sees one move ahead.

Isolationism would be difficult if not impossible with world trade. American trade and interests abroad need protection which eventually would lead to "entanglements" unless somehow everyone in the world followed the rules...whatever they might be. How would enforcing rules be accomplished ? The UN certainly would allow every nasty little and big country or collection of countries to run roughshod over Americans and their interests. A strong presence around the world is necessary to prevent or at least diminish the enterprise of kidnapping to sell and or ransom Americans. Very difficult to accomplish in a satisfactory way. Russia would annex all of Europe and maybe North Africa. They could divide the world with the Chinese.

"Just when I thought that I was out they pull me back in"

Or, barring all of the above, I'd like to believe that Obama is eventually going to commit America to a policy of isolationism. Obama clearly prefers focusing on his domestic agenda, so any foreign policy distractions can't be a good thing to him. Hence he would need to filter them out by declaring that America will not further entangle itself in foreign conflicts, and that the rest of the world would need to start taking responsibility for their own defense.

What does that say about us as a nation?

Never overestimate the intelligence of the American public. He was elected because he was black and the chittlens thought he was COOL. The country is now paying the price.

We will need to obliterate ISIS and the sooner we do it the easier it will be. Likely we could do it with limited Special Ops forces and bombing campaigns. If we wait much longer we'll need real boots on the ground. We will also need to populate a few bases in Iraq and Afghanistan into perpetuity if we wish for this not to happen again. Hell, we may as well set up a few in Syria. This will also have the side benefit of squeezing Iran.
