Hi Eric, ASX quotes and company statements to the exchange can be obtained for AUD$19.95 per month (US$13.25) from Ozemail StockWatch at: stockwatch.com.au I've still got a leg iron on - a descendant from a horse thief from Winchester, Hants in 1788, and a highway robber (a women) in Wakefield in 1800. From this promising stock I have descended (rapidly). Actually, the convicts left few descendants in Australia (most of the Australian convicts were men and the few women had their pick of husbands - usually from the wealthy free settlers and the military officers). I seem to remember that the US was a British prison colony for quite a while - maybe that's why the Brits had to turn to Australia after 1776? I would suggest that quite a few in North America are in for a shock if they ever get around to researching their family history. A lot of Australian ex-convicts went to the Californian diggings in 1849, and later to the Klondike and Yukon. It has been argued that this migration resulted in a lift in the moral tone on both sides of the Pacific. Seriously, their are very few cowboy companies, or corporate crooks, in Australia now - Bre-X could not have happened here. Ten or twenty years ago the mining sector resembled the wild west - but that has all changed and even the worst run of the exploration companies are paragons of virtue compared to the generally flakey outfits that you have in North America. PS. The native silver I referred to is primary, not secondary. This is what makes the prospect so interesting. Cheers to you all (with a dog like IPM you need consoling). Your favourite crim, Aurum.
