Indeed, we did hear all about the iPad was a dud for a few days after its launch. And then... people started by buying it like crazy and the nay-saying experts shut up. Well, most of them did, anyway. Some of them are still proclaiming it a failure waiting to happen, lol.

They can live without it and people who make $12 a year are not going to buy it. Same people who didn't need iPads. The watch is an upscale status item for people who stopped buying and wearing watches. It signals that the person wearing it is highly into tech. It'll do all sorts of things no one NEEDS, but for people who make 6 figures and up its not a biggie for dad to buy two, one for mom and one for him so they can send heartbeat love messages. When these people are driving they might not want to struggle to get the phone out of a pocket or purse. When these people are in an important meeting they get the message unobtrusively without the annoying ringer of the phone. Everyone has been in that situation where you just want to say "turn your fucking phone ringer off you idiot!" Wearing a watch you'll never have to have it on. No one needs bio feedback when they exercise, but hard driving techies and business people like that kind of thing. Lots of stuff no one needs. Lots more coming. Its not going to double Apple's size, but its a good addition to the iPad. Just wish it was hear for xmas. Maybe they'll sell Apple Watch certificates.
