Gary,

Ouch.... Touching the low of the year today!

Looks as if a large fund or investor is bailing out.
Phoenix also got hit yesterday and today.
Systemsoft made new lows as well.

AWRD with their $3.00 in cash is might become takeover bait at these prices.

Marc

Gary,

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

No I haven't seen any news. Perhaps one of the thread participants should call the company to enquire. After I read the other posts, if no one else has shed any serious light on the subject, I'll call them.

I'm hoping that the fall is just some of the institutions dumping the stock. There are so many bargains out there now, I could see a flight to quality. Not that I don't like Award, but it's a small company. Large companies are perceived as safer investments.

On the other hand, these kind of drops sometimes preceed bad news. A recent example is CFMT. The shares fell from the $40s to $23, all the while the company provided no bad news to explain the fall. Hence I considered it just a plain old fashion correction. I bought at $23, and BOOM, within days of my purchase, the company announced a loss of orders from a customer whose fab had burned. Now CFMT trades in the teens.

It seems whether it's the leaking of inside information, or the ability to see the future, the market often reacts in advance of bad news. I hope a similar scenario is not playing out here.

There is somewhat of a tech slowdown taking place, the degree of which we'll know in hind sight. I guess if unit sales of PCs are less than predicted, we might fall short on our next earnings report. The last report, though, looked good.

Even if bad news is coming, it's probably priced into the stock already, so I'm going to hang in there with my AWRD shares. I bought in the $12-13 range, so I'd hate to sell at a loss because there "might be" bad news coming.

Best of luck to you.
