He'd been supposedly "waving the sword around" in front of the credit union, which is why the police were called. I'm sure the same result would have occurred had he been waving his legal, open carry pistol around. When I lived in Austin, a homeless white man had been shot dead for waving his walking stick at a cop who was ten feet away. He was cleared. I had a buddy in high school, a big Australian immigrant, that hated cops, and would get in fights with them whenever they stopped us. He got me stomped one time, them arrested.
