All the money on hand goes into repurchasing stock. Especially when demand isn't out pacing capacity. No need to hire or give raises when you can squeeze the blood out of the employees you have. Even better is a 87 style crash where they can come in and scoop up their shares on the cheap with all that cash.
JMO Lived through it before and xom is a master at it.

This is not true
Secondly.....Companies do not need to redeem overseas cash to create jobs in the US. They have tons of cash here in the US to create all the jobs they want,.........What companies lack are some good ideas on how to use the cash they have on hand. Apple, CSCO, Intel, GE and HPQ have plenty of cash on hand currently, to create lots American jobs.
In fact, if you check, they take out loans to pay dividends rather than bring the cash back. If the cash was here in the US, they would not need to do this. They also use it to build factories to build chips overseas or, in the case of Apple and HP for two I know of for sure, they use the cash to buy dedicated production at TSMC, UMC, Foxcom and many other large manufacturing sites.
When Clinton was President .he could have solved this problem, but he chose not to,.... Now he wants to complain about it. So why not ask Clinton why he did nothing about the situation, when he was in office
I think he was too busy having sexual relations with interns and tearing down safeguards with his Wall Street buddy Rubin that protected FDIC savers with strong regulations. My guess is he did it in exchange for cushy speaking engagements and "rock star status" after he left office.

You still don't get it or understand where the cash is.

THEY DO NOT NEED IDEAS! They could build chip plants and FoxCom manufacturing plants here in the US and supply tons of great jobs.

When I started working at HP in CA in 1978 as a summer intern, there were TONS of great jobs in assembly and test for "English as a second language" workers. I think most of those now are working at Walmart, the car wash where I get my cars washed, Taco Bell and KFC type jobs, pushing out the high school kids that used to work there to save for college. I know that because I cleaned tables for minimum wage before I moved up to a car wash job for a bit more than minimum wage while I was in high school. After I had experience, I get a great job well above min wage at Montgomery Wards selling toys for Christmas then kept on to sell paint after I proved myself.

I paid for half my college education by working and you can bet I didn't waste money on stuff like kids do today who get student loans and have no clue how hard they are to pay off... so they buy iPhones and coffees at Starbucks rather than reduce the amount they borrow. (that is another problem but it relates back to our terrible tax policy of punishing corporations who are successful here.)

Prove it! I say the cash is overseas from selling stuff to customers outside the US. They keep it there to expand overseas and hire workers there to build what they sell overseas.
