Hyundai has been put on creidt watch: partly due to market problem faced by Maxtor: techweb.com Another article said that Hyundai, LG Goldstar and Samsung will protect their continued investment in Semiconductor due to their strength in DRAM. This is the area they seem to have decided not to give up. It sounds to me that they have to give up something to re-gain their credit and be able to continue to obtain sizable loans. Maybe, it is time for Hyundai to dump Maxtor. John

Kurt, "intricacies" was spelled right, I just looked it up. Re your post: I've been on SI for over a year and have never seen so much despair. People have worked so diligently all year to invest wisely, only to be cheated out of their reward. Yet I've talked to neighbors who have their money in mediocre mutual funds and they seem quite content. Maybe it is time to get away for a while for some of us. Speaking for myself - I'm going sailing. I had become too obsessed with investing. GM
