Why amd cannot do a shrink to even 20nm on all its processors for 2015 is pure negligence on reads part. With an established am3 market they could garner an upgrade cycle for established owners if they could reduce power by 50 watts and increase performance by 20 percent. Amd management has been totally clueless. Post of the month pravin.

There is an interesting problem for the next week, because both Rory and Lisa insisted multiple times that this was simply an event which was planned for a long time. AMD has not (so far) in fact warned for the Qtr. If next week we find out that either the Qtr or forward guidance has materially declined, than Lisa will start her tenure with a rather serious credibility problem, because of how she and Rory adamantly claimed the transition timing was a preplanned event only.

But even aside from that, if this was simply a planned event, and envisioned as beneficial, then the way the board and management did it, decimated their stock price, which by itself is a pretty good indication that they are kind of clueless.

Next week will clear some things up!

Regarding graphics: 1) NVDA will indeed be putting pressure with the new Maxwell parts, good chance the new Macs intro'ed on the 16'th, if they have discrete graphics might be back to NVDA, and 2) With Gen8 graphics, Intel is finally about caught up with AMD on integrated graphics, and the decline of discrete is just going to keep on happening.

Regarding process tech, they made it clear they are not planning on being on the bleeding edge, despite the gift that Apple and the Foundries are dangling in front of them. That is inexcusable IMHO.
