Fundamentals are against gold now. Will gold continue to move up as these bottom? CPI figures from across the EU have provided further evidence of the danger that deflation poses to the region. French CPI dropped 0.4% on month in September from +0.5% in August and Italian CPI slipped 0.4%, as in August. Spanish CPI held steady at +0.2% on month but was -0.2% on year. In the U.K., annual inflation dropped to a five-year low of 1.2% from 1.5%.
