They changed from being conservative when they became the commissioned sales force for government backed fannie and freddie. Libertarians such as myself have warned of what happens when governments throw money at problems for political reasons be it the never ending wars or the never ending cycle of excess risk with government loans (student or home.) Few pay attention to us as they all want their share of the funny money.
