Good points.

Remember that HPQ is splitting into two companies next year. I'll say more in my newsletter but it came not long after "Meg" said she wasn't splitting up the company. If you look at the pieces HP spun off, there is a whole family of companies... Agilent, Verigy, Avago.... and soon to be HP Enterprise and HP Inc. I'd hate to be one of the caboose companies on the S&P that gets tossed if one of the larger companies splits...
I'm thinking as our world continues to shift everything to the digital side of the world, semi equipment companies should find themselves in the industrials - Amat klac and lrcx come to mind.

Sure be nice to see all of the index finds have to bid them up !

AMAT, LRCX and KLAC: They are already in the S&P500.

Watch QQQ. You can probably get very profitable long term buy/sell signals for when LRCX was added and removed from QQQ. With the mergers, LRCX may be too large to get kicked off the next time.

Lam was dropped in 2012 and hasn't been added back yet
