The need to believe for any slave or common man was just so great, look at all that suffering & disease that Intelligent designer put in their hopeless & hapless paths? Drought, plague, crop failure & starvation is common as having a few seasons with little rains. Also the patriarchal power is guaranteed by such tribal hero stories like Moses God beside them but a vengeful god ready to smite them, trick them & even decieve them when necessary. Everyone of the Herbews that leaves Egypt with Moses is killed later by this god? Just incredible nonsense, but when it comes to Moses & Aaron's staff, now that is all Greek for absolute surety, as are the later healing & raising dead body stories.

Nehushtan or the Bronze Serpent of 'ol Moses .... Need more on staffs with snakes & serpents on poles? This lovely little deity Jahweh sends fiery snakes to punish the 600,000 wanderers with Moses who start complaining too loudly. This would all be so lovely except we find almost no bronze age relics from Israel 600BC let alone 1500BC. Who even believes this nonsense is beyond me, but its obvious the Hebrews were absolutely imitating the Greeks here, in their crazy way. Hebrew's barely had an Iron Age let alone the Bronze, this was all stolen from Greek mythology am 100% sure of it. Later in the biblical story, King Hezekiah institutes a religious iconoclastic reform and destroys "the brazen serpent that Moses had made; for unto those days the children of Israel did offer to it; and it was called Nehushtan."
