Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 95703 OT--It is actually theft to take most of the articles you, I and others post here. The people who write the articles make them public in the hopes their readers return AND click on ads on their site. I don't think that that many SA authors depend on the income that they get from SA for sustenance. SA's payment is $35 on publication and $10/thousand page-views (cf seekingalpha.com ). They say that average page-views per premium article is 5,903. But let's say that an articles gets 20k page views. The author would receive $235 for the article. They would have to write a lot of articles to make decent money. And I have found that the people who do write a lot of articles don't write very good ones--even if they have talent, they don't have the time to research and write many good pieces. Some of the articles on SA are appallingly bad, others may be good but are mostly just regurgitation of previous pieces or news events or CCs and don't really offer anything that is new or useful. That said, I used to occasionally post entire SA articles on SI, but I don't any more. If I do post something, it is pretty much just the summary bullet points and maybe a couple of paragraphs, sometimes not even that--just the title, author, date and a link. That is because, to me, the real value of the SA articles comes in the give-and-take of the comments section, when there are good readers who take the time to comment. There is often either disagreement or clarification or additions to the article that are invaluable and stimulating. That part of SA is never reposted on SI.
