Washington and Jefferson were plutocratic idiots- and we shouldn't have listened to them- at least in terms of politics and war (though Jefferson, like many men of mixed character, had some interesting observations on the natural world, that one can see as separate from his failure as a person). I agree with Zinn about the revolutionary war. It was a stupid war, fought for the benefit of the rich, and we should have just stayed a colony. I disagree with Zinn on the necessity for the Civil War and WWII- but I'm 100% in agreement on the stupidity of the revolutionary war. Thanks for bringing that up.
