Ha! I spent my life buying and selling and setting prices, maximizing profits. If you're so numb to Walmart marketing, yes I can I understand how you fall for it. That and the local company prejudice, which I applaud.

I remember flying/driving to Bentonville in the old days to call on Walmart buyers, what a pain. It used to be hell to get to.

(in fact, they guarantee they have the lowest price on every item and back it up with refunds if you pay them more.

But that doesn't change the official price of the product, I wouldn't think. It's just an ad hoc adjustment at point of sale for a given customer, no?
