Good ideas. Some of the top people left Cisco and went to Arista Networks, Inc. (ANET) . It amazes me how many people I know who from windsurfing, my newsletter, helping people and friends of friends who USED to work at Cisco... I'd worry it is much like HP, most of the top talent left ages ago.

TSMC to grab 40-50% of A9 chip orders

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is expected to secure a combined 40-50% of Apple's A9 processor orders for next-generation iPad and iPhone devices, according to industry sources.

TSMC has declined to comment on the speculation.

TSMC is believed to have grabbed the entire A9 chip orders for use in Apple's next iPad devices, said the sources. Nevertheless, with lower prices, Samsung Electronics has taken the majority of Apple's iPhone chip orders for 2015, the sources indicated.

Samsung has offered Apple lower prices for its 14nm FinFET process production, with the quotes similar to those for its 20nm node manufacturing, the sources pointed out.

In addition, TSMC will begin to tape-out 16nm FinFET process products for the next-generation iPhone devices in December, the sources revealed. The foundry will still play a part in the supply chain for iPhones in 2015.

TSMC reportedly fabricates all of Apple's A8 chips for the iPhone 6 devices.
