They just had former Apple CEO John Sculley on CNBC talking about a $100 to $150 smart phone he's making for the low end people who don't want to spend $700, give or take, to make a phone call with an Apple phone.

I phones are cannibalizing iPads.... that cannibalized laptops.... that cannibalized desktop pcs.

Digitimes Research: iPad shipments to drop to 55 million units in 2015
Thanks to Sony quitting the notebook market and Apple's price cuts, MacBook shipments in 2014 are expected to grow over 15% on year, the highest growth among the top-10 vendors. But Apple's iPad shipments are expected to see a decline in the year.

I wonder at what age people will want larger screens and text sizes to see what they are doing? At some point we'll see an intersection of people who use computers daily with those who can't see a small screen. Right now, I'm just starting to deal with progressive lenses and different glasses for different tasks... and I was a very, very early adopter of computers for work (used unix to build R&D cost models before there was Excel and Lotus123...)
