Sorry to interrupt. I have a 15 year old Dell desktop and am looking to replace. Do you have a recommend? At my age it will most likely be the last one I buy. Willing to go $500-$1000. TIA for your (or anyone's) thoughts. RDK.

Hi Kirk...

I'm not connected like you to a daily requirement of internet tasks... so I don't travel with a computer and enjoy the time away from the keyboard, but since I'm gone only 2 weeks or so that hasn't been a problem. If that time stretches-out in the future... I'll have to make adjustments.

When my wife travels on business... she carries a company lap top that connects directly to the internet whenever and where-ever she turns it on without the need of a hot spot network. It can handle big files. That might be the way to do it. But it too... stays in the office on our vacations.

My brother in law gave me a Nexus a year a ago... which is really justa toy when you can find a hot spot... it cannot handle even small files.

Seems to me the race has just started to produce a portable match to the desk top.
