Thanks! I really appreciate the help.

I think I see why these HUGE companies have such value... I posted this on my FB timeline today
  • Kirk Lindstrom Stupid Facebook no longer lets us select what image to post for our links so they choose inappropriate images... probably so people will pay them for an ad or for help. I ticks me off that I brought over 1,000 readers here to facebook years ago for my investing group BECAUSE they had a way to send email to the whole group... then after they got the free advertising to bring so many here from Suite101, they removed the tool and now want to charge me to advertise on the timeline of those people.... Oh well... at least I enjoyed the music videos I learned about here.

  • Michele Miller Hollar Wow, that is too bad -

  • Kirk Lindstrom All the big sites are like this Michele Miller Hollar, even Google. Small operators like me earn money from readers clicking the ads on our sites served by Google. If you have something really popular that earns good money, then Google can source it themselves and get all the search traffic that sent people to your site. Facebook mobile now defaults to showing your link on their site. Amazon is even worse for people that market products with Amazon fulfillment.

  • Kirk Lindstrom Not only individuals, but small businesses give up a TON of valuable information to these huge sites. It may be why their stock is so high.
Several years ago I had sites that were earning 10 to 100 times the average for Google "associates." They wanted to send a team of R&D folks over to my house to interview me for a group study to see how they could "help us" better. I said sure if they would sign an NDA with a clause to NEVER copy what I did or try to steal my traffic. They declined so I declined the "kind offer to help me." A few years later the traffic on those sites dried to a trickle from Google.

I bought MORE of their stock to go with the newsletter and personal shares bought at $151.... as I know their game... but I sure don't trust them with my business models
