Obama cut the payroll taxes and made the lower taxes on dividends and capital gains permanent.
Those things helped but the two things moved the economy in an upward trajectory were"

1)Getting the financial crises under control

2) The General Motors Bailout. This showed that Obama was not going to let major manufacturing businesses go under.

I realize that You and Robert Furman, don't have a lot of kind words for Obama. But Obama did prevent Bob's GM dealership from becoming just a used car lot.

The most important thing was that Obama took over at the very nadir of the economic crises. The economy had no where to go but up.
