Well, he issued sell recs on DNA at over 100, SOLV at 15, and Avant! at 30 within the last year. I don't know if that makes him a real financial analyst, but it sure as heck makes me think he knows how to sniff out a scam.

Barb!

Is he a real financial analyst?

I don't know him personally, and haven't confirmed any of this, but Asensio's website shows:

"Manuel P. Asensio is the Founder and Chairman of Asensio & Company, Inc. He has over 20 years of corporate finance and investment experience. Prior to becoming an investment banker, Mr. Asensio progressed through the auditing, budgeting and treasury departments of
Aco, S.A., a multinational distribution and manufacturing conglomerate. He then became Chief Financial Officer of Sociedad Financiera Union, C.A., a Marine Midland affiliated Latin American merchant bank. Later, working for Bear Stearns, Mr. Asensio provided financial advice to corporations engaged in merger and acquisition transactions, restructurings, and underwritings. He also has extensive experience in venture capital private placements and
investment research. Mr. Asensio received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance degree with honors from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania in May 1977, and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Investment Management from the Harvard University Graduate School of
Business Administration in June 1982."

>>>>What he really meant was "DRC" which was "Design Rule Check" in CAD terms. I don't feel comfortable to see somebody issued "press release" as an financial analyst but actually made that kind of
obvious mistakes. Is he a real financial analyst ?>>>>>>

Wanhao, if only I had a dime for everytime non-engineers confused acronyms in the technology business... Engineers are concerned with the atomic structure of widgets and the zeros and ones of software code, financial analysts are concerned with the meaning. This also cuts over to PR people who write the press releases - the best PR people are not technical and things like this sometimes get by them, just like they get by technical reporters.

All the distinguished engineers I know would struggle to write a mediocre press release, and the great PR people don't know DRC from DNA. IMO.
