Taiwan-based first-tier analog IC design houses, including Richtek Technology, Global Mixed-mode Technology (GMT) and Macroblock are likely to see a strong rebound in sales in 2015, powered by the release of new products, according to industry sources.

Taiwan-based analog IC suppliers have recently been focusing on development of ICs for mobile devices and a number of new ICs has been verified by brand vendors, paving the way for volume shipments in 2015, said the sources.

Richtek is expected to continue to ramp up shipments of its sub-power management ICs (PWM ICs) to Samsung Electronics, while also shipping more PWM ICs for tablet and flat panel applications, the sources noted.

GMT is expected to be able to boost shipments of its PWM ICs to the notebook, tablet, handset and TV sectors, said the sources.
