I was actually looking for something that would graph Russia's economy from say 1992 to present, I think you'd see a big dip about 1998 in the Asian Financial crisis. I couldn't find anything better than that stock chart.

We do have loads of wealthy Russian tourists here in the Philippines. But its hard to say if we're seeing the top 1% of the citizens, or there are boatloads of Russians taking international vacations regularly. I've never really understood the economy. The have at times had incredible science programs (space, weapons, all that), but aside from Oil and Gas the only export brand of theirs that I know of was Stolychnya Vodka, and I think they sold that to some European country so it's no longer even Russian. Where's the Russian cell phone maker, jeans maker, watch maker, makeup maker, anything maker? I don't know, and without the diversification how do you really get the trickle down economy that lifts up the masses - they can't ALL work on oil rigs.

Lots of Russians tourists these days moaning loudly about Putin, they seldom discussed him previously.
