Evidently the inside track on this Nomai information is that the threat is real, and that Nomai Zip discs are coming to these shores next year. Witness IOM stock price action today. This bears out the fears that these prospects have on The Street. This French company is a ripoff master, and it can and will get away with it. It's what they specialize in, and they are very experienced in getting around patent infringment obstacles to do it.

These Nomai Zip discs sell for roughly a 30%-40% disount below Iomega brand Zip discs. The loss of this revenue to Iomega can surely cause estimates to be lowered for next year, and present forward PE numbers to be revised upward in accordance. This will make the stock price either stagnant, or perhaps even fall to levels back in the teens (pre-split price).

We all know that the "reliability" charade invoked by Iomega in these press releases is pure B.S., and they are using this tactic to discourage buyers from running past the Iomega displays straight to the same quality, same capacity, lower-priced Nomai Zip Discs. Face it, Iomega blew it when it came to Patent Applications, and now they are going to pay the piper for their short-sightedness and rush to get this low-end product on the market.
