Hi Jane,
The time element is what throws us off when looking at Revelation. Such as when will we be taken up and when will all these things happen. We know it says we will be taken up at the last trump. That to me means it will all be done except the pouring out of the wrath of God when Jesus comes for us. All those who have died for their testimony of Jesus will have already. We will have been here during the so called tribulation, all of us. The giving of the mark of the beast is the final step for us. After everyone has made the choice there is no more reason for delay. The beast will force it on everyone killing whoever he can who refuses. I believe that those that can be led by the Holy Spirit can escape the mark and the beast. (Remember that the Holy Spirit told Paul not to go to Jerusalem. He went anyhow.) When that process is finished it will be our time to go.
I know this flys in the face of what many believe. I have heard all the arguments and for 15 years my answer was "I don't know" when asked about Revelation etc. A Christian I worked with (1990) gave me a book to read ( it turned out to be a presentaion of "pre-trib") saying she did not know what to believe either and I did a study of the books conclusions compared to Scripture. Reading this book (Let's Study The Revelation) caused me to pray for knowledge and guidance and to seek the real meaning of the most misunderstood book in the Bible. When I gave the book back I pointed out the numerous flaws in the idea of "pre-trib". To my surprise she was very offended because I realized too late she indeed believed in "pre-trib" and was actually trying to convince me. It is a very divisive issue and I don't want to offend here. We will have tribulation but we are not appointed to wrath.

Have a good day,

Bob
