White House Struggles to Answer Questions About Harvard Faculty Outrage Over ObamaCare

.............................................................................................................................
BY: Washington Free Beacon Staff January 6, 2015
linkis.com

During the press briefing at the White House this afternoon, Josh Earnest was questioned about President Obama’s former colleagues at Harvard who are now complaining about the ACA they once supported. Harvard released a statement that the law is raising health insurance costs and therefore the university would have to change the plans for their staff.

Ed Henry asked Earnest if it was “hypocritical” for these professors to claim that Obamacare was good for the country until they, themselves, had to pay more because of it.

Earnest, for his part, seemed stumped by the question. He stuttered and stumbled through his answer
before rattling off the typical White House talking points about the law.

The irony that some of the biggest Obama and Obamacare supporters no longer celebrate the passage of their healthcare law or its impact on the healthcare system seems to have ruffled some feathers at the White House.

Judge: Arlene’s Flowers owner can be sued in her personal capacity
.......................................................................
Tri-City Herald ^ | January 7, 2015 | Sara Schilling

The owner of a Richland flower shop being sued over her refusal to provide services for a same-sex wedding can face claims in her personal capacity, a Benton County Superior Court judge ruled Wednesday.

Barronelle Stutzman and her Arlene’s Flowers are being sued by the state Attorney General’s office and a same-sex couple. Stutzman, a Christian, declined to provide services for the couple’s wedding because of her religious beliefs.

Her attorneys argued the claims against her personally should be dropped, describing them as unprecedented and unjust.

Attorneys for the state and the couple argued Stutzman can be held personally liable under the law.

In a decision Wednesday, Judge Alex Ekstrom ruled that “the clear language of the CPA (Consumer Protection Act) and WLAD (Washington Law Against Discrimination) supports both individual and corporate liability.”

However, he did toss out one of the couple’s claims — that Stutzman aided her business in violating state anti-discrimination law.

Ekstrom also dismissed some of Stutzman’s arguments dealing with the state’s standing to bring its lawsuit.

Ekstrom hasn’t yet ruled on some other summary judgment motions in the case. At this time, trial is set for the spring.

MSNBC: Falwell Suing Hustler same as Charlie Hebdo Massacre
...........................................................................................................................................

How many people did Jerry Falwell kill with his lawsuit, you morons????

It's a bullshit comparison by idiots who would rather attack Christianity than the radical islamists who are killing people

This is just a slight view of why the leftist hacks and their outdated policies were soundly rejected last election. If you let them talk long enough they tell you how crazy they are.

That suit was not about preventing the cartoon (afaik), it was about it's LEGALITY under the current laws. Slander, not "blasphemy", not even vaguely related!
Not about enforcing religious laws, which is precisely what Jihadists are demanding. It's not even remotely similar!

When you ignore the murder, shooting, blood, gore, lack of court room, and no one suing anybody, then yes you are correct. These situations are the same.

This is weapon's grade stupid right here.

Aside from the obvious fact that Falwell's actions were totally legal and non violent they had nothing to do with religion. It was a personal defamation suit.

Does anyone know who the names of these fucking idiots? They should be named and shamed for this incredible stupidity

Another shining example of the absolute stupidity and cowardice of the idiots of MSNBC.

These people are beyond stupid

Wow. That is some first class stupidity right there.

Holy shit these idiots cannot be serious. ?

Here we see in stark detail why nobody watches MSNBC.

Financial Times' Europe Editor Calls Charlie Hebdo 'Stupid,' Accuses Paper Of 'Muslim Baiting'

The Huffington Post ^ | 01/07/2015 | By Ryan Grenoble

The Financial Times' Europe editor, Tony Barber, has accused the satirical French newspaper Charlie Hebdo of "Muslim-baiting" after 12 people were killed and others wounded Wednesday in a terror attack at Charlie Hebdo's office in Paris.

Barber leveled his charge in an opinion piece published Wednesday afternoon, hours after three masked gunmen stormed Charlie Hebdo's newsroom and opened fire. Witnesses say the shooters shouted "Allahu Akbar" and "we have avenged the prophet," before fleeing in a waiting car.

Charlie Hebdo regularly mocks world religions and political figures, but has faced serious threats and a 2011 firebombing for its satire on Islam and the publication of cartoons featuring the Prophet Muhammad. Among the dead Wednesday were four of the paper's cartoonists.

"Charlie Hebdo has a long record of mocking, baiting and needling French Muslims," Barber writes, pointing a finger at the paper for inciting the violence. "France is the land of Voltaire, but too often editorial foolishness has prevailed at Charlie Hebdo."

He continued:

This is not in the slightest to condone the murderers, who must be caught and punished, or to suggest that freedom of expression should not extend to satirical portrayals of religion. It is merely to say that some common sense would be useful at publications such as Charlie Hebdo, and Denmark’s Jyllands-Posten, which purport to strike a blow for freedom when they provoke Muslims, but are actually just being stupid.

The column has already accrued more than 500 comments at Financial Times, many of them critical and unforgiving.

"This article is appalling in its insensitivity to those who were killed and injured in today's horrific and totally unjustifiable attack," reads one comment. "Although the author states that he does not condone the murders, he is, by writing that the staff at the magazine lacked common-sense, insinuating that the victims brought this on themselves. Shocking and shameful."

Another describes the piece as "indescribably tasteless," both due to its content, and the fact that Foreign Times published it "as people lie bleeding in hospital, and as they carry the bodybags across Paris."
