Can anybody confirm that Oracle is in takeover talks with a potential buyer ?

Rumors have started surfacing from employees within the company that Oracle is in talks with a high tech. company over a potential merger. The asking price is $32 billion or just slightly over $32/share.
I heard this from two ORCL marketing employees just minutes ago and am wondering that perhaps it is what contributed to the sharp rise in the stock price this morning. Is there an ORCL employee on this board who might be able to confirm the rumors. Something is up for sure that has these two employees excited. It may not be a takeover as they think but a major re-structuring to pare down staff levels.

Having owned the stock all the way to 40 who will waiy for it to double again if they rode it back down. Don't you think the big boys will sell it and go for other stocks that give them a better hope of reconstructing their portfolio's worth then waiting for ORCL to get its act together and to be recognized again as a high P.E> stock? There seems to be a stigma when one falls from grace as ORCL did?

But having said that I am encouraged by your optimism and enthusiatic report.

Merry Christmas,
