[TI-Acer]

<<<How much does Acer effect TXN earnings >>>

Larry --

I have someone at DW/MS checking right now.

In the meantime, here's a good URL to bookmark:

Larry --

DW/MS doesn't cover, but I was able to dig up the following:

TI-Acer loss = 3 billion in local currency. Or roughly 90million US. TI owns 33% of Acer or $33 million in losses. But, TI doesn't consolidate the earnings. If they did the loss would be .09 pre-tax, .06 after tax.

As for the overall situation, in short, Korea needs money. No one will loan it. Trying to raise dollars by dumping DRAM. Koreans taking losses, therefore not building new factories, not adding capacity, which will eventually lead to shortages. . . the cycle will repeat.

I'm merely the reporter of this information. All new territory for this gal. :)
