Justin,

"I firmly believe that people don't buy NT for performance, they buy it for applications.."

I have spent the last FOUR days fighting in a vain attempt to install WindowsNT 4.0 Workstation on my machine. A complete waste of time to say the least and the prayers used could not be readily translated into Latin nor published in The Economist. At this point I have tried their Typical, Custom, and Compact Installs with as many options disabled as possible and it still crashes after booting up. PERFORMANCE is the least to be expected from NT. Microsoft does not listen to the users who want QUALITY, STABILITY, and products that WORK as advertised. This will no doubt be their downfall, because sooner or later, somebody will introduce a stable OS supported by enough products to start eroding their position in the market. A balloon that is waiting for a pin to burst it...

If WindowsNT is an offering of what they consider "New Technology" then we are better off without them in an economy that needs reliable engineering solutions to maintain its technological lead. Quality tools produce quality products.

Cheers,

Norm
