Richard,
i'm running a lot of of tests and i'm playing around with some of your indicators. I like MACD(13,34,89)
Today i tried it on the nasadq Comp and it looks pretty good.
What really surprises me is that MACD indicated the little crash from 10/28/97 pretty accurate.
It crossed above 0 on Sept. 17, stayed their with very low values until 17/10 and hasn't reached positive territory ever since.
Oktober 17 would have been an excellent day to say goodbye to Nasdaq at 1699
Do you use indicators on indices ? Which one ? Do you close your position when the overall market changes direction but your picks look good?

Best Wishes
