No, Solyndra was NOT a "perfect Krugman stimulus idea." But in any case, yeah, the govt sometimes puts money into technologies that don't work. Happens all time in DoD--and with a lot more money, over a long period of time. But that is part of what govt does--they back ventures that might or might not work but if they do work they have a big payback. And they are considered necessary for the future. That is why the govt invested in canals, railroads, electricity, nuclear power, air transportation, communications, medical research, and the list goes on and on.

No one wants to keep unnecessary or redundant inefficiencies in place. Stop making these RW straw men arguments.
