I still don't see the upside given the continued loss of market share in their core businesses. This coupled with an inability to attack new markets (due to corporate retrenchment).

Can you substantiate your remarks, or is this your opinion. Outside of a loss of market share in RAS during the 3rd quarter which many consider to be an anomaly due to the 56K problem (which has since been resolved),
ASND is maintaining its leadership in its core businesses and growing marketshare in ATM.

As for corporate retrenchment, hmmmmmmmm, pretty heady stuff. However, as for an inability in attacking new markets I wholeheartedly disagree. Reference the Furman Selz report of 12/3 "Carriers (telcos)should be a higher percentage of revenue in the current quarter, as opposed to ASND's traditional ISP customer base." Customers include Bell South, Bell Atlantic/Nynex, NTT, and an undisclosed RBOC (prob. Pac Bell or AT&T WorldNet).

>>>One month later and still trading at 24.75. I guess there's still time to get in on the sale 'eh?<<<

Definately. Do your portfolio a favor and get in through the basement door. Many people didn't get that opportunity, but those that take advantage of it are looking at 2x CSCO's potential returns in half the time, going into 1998.

>>> I still don't see the upside given the continued loss of market share in thier core businesses.<<<

My latest post to you on the CSCO thread prove you wrong. What loss of market share? Your ATM data was from 1996, and the FR data was misinformed as the Infonetics report in Nov plainly shows.

>>>This coupled with an inability to attack new markets<<<

These ARE new markets. ASND has only been around since mid-94. It's CSCO who is entering the new markets. ASND is moving into routers though.
