The info I provided was only relevant to Chrome because I had it open. If you had Internet Explorer open (or Firefox or whatever browser you use) it would show similar on the lower toolbar. There would be a black line around the icon and if you had other windows/tabs/web sites open they would show just like that when you hover your mouse over the icon....

Windows 7 is not THAT much different from Windows Vista.

When you state the display is rolling...are you referring to the display image actually rolling top to bottom or bottom to top like and old tube type television that is past it's prime? Is this old Vista computer a laptop or desktop computer? I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a rolling screen on a laptop previously in all my years of experience. I've seen display issues on laptops but typically they are caused by a loose/broken wire connection due to the constant opening/closing of the lid. Have you tried to move the laptop lid more open or closed slightly to see if the connection is intermittent?
