Long distance passenger travel by rail has been outdated by air travel and interstate highways. Why not just go back to travel by covered wagons? Horses and oxen are renewable sources of energy.

They Criticized the Transcontinental Railroads Too Of course. If conservatives had their way, we would still be living in mud huts or log cabins. Per usual, CA is taking the lead and showing the rest of the country the way to go. Praise Jesus there is a California!
