In my experience, which is substantial, I have not seen evidence of patients unwilling to seek treatment because they couldn't afford to pay.

What total bullshit. A person doesn't go to the mechanic if they can't pay, nor do they go to the doctor. They take the time honored remedy of waiting to see if it 'goes away'.
