I think you missed the point I made on several occassions: it is a commodity and the $49 price for eSuite makes that crystal clear. The question was who would dominate going forward and the answer is NOT Microsoft Office for a variety of extremely compelling reasons. Microsoft had better be concerned because half of their revenue stream comes from that commodity. The other point you are missing is the critical importance of the underlying services that make up those commodity products. If software developers start writing to an open standard and companies compete above that with additional services within eSuite, then Microsoft will have no choice but to join in as ONE of many vendors producing an open office product. Applix is in a position to leverage it's product into additional sales of it's vertical products. This isn't something which just dawned on me or that I haven't given considerable thought and I am very much aware of the competitive power of Microsoft.
