They were simple and easy to produce and they produced them by the 10s of thousands. Hitler was so crazed with armor that he had them build a tank that was so large it could only move on railroad tracks. Of course it was abandoned. Although the Russian tanks we encountered in IRAQ were terribly inferior to our tanks a tanker friend of mine told me that the Russians have caught up to us now. I truly wouldn't want to be near a tank in battle. It is like standing in the bulls eye!
