For an excellent perpective on Asian turmoil, check Jubak's journal 12/16/97 at investor.msn.com;
His view is the most realistic that I've ever seen.

I notice that you're from Europe. How can I buy, european stock from the US?

regards,
Simonds

I personally get the impression that quite many people talking about an Asian crisis have not been over there recently (No offense to Glenn, please. Thomas, No offense taken. I only have what I read and the accuracy of those "stories" is in question. I have never been to Asia. I would like all to be well there. The press here gives a very negative slant. Ok..where are the people that live there that would really know?? Glenn

Checkout Jess Baltz's posts on the CYMER thread. He is finance professor in HK and had some great posts in November about the general situation.

You might also check out Edward Yarden at Morgan Grenfell's site -- www.yardeni.com for the most coherent ideas on Asia and the best long term charts around anywhere.

My best, Thomas
